In just under a month Saratoga Race Course will open on Thursday July 11th. One of the most popular upstate attractions first opened over 150 years ago, and is undergoing some change this year. For starters this is the earliest opening day ever! And there will now be two “dark days” a week instead of one. But fret not! There will still be the same number of race days this season, which ends on September 2nd. And new this year at the track is the “1863 Club”, which will be three floors of luxury suites, banquet spaces, event space, and historic memorabilia from throughout the rich history of the track.
From the opening weekend, to the Whitney, to the Travers, the track is full of events all season long. And in case you’re a baseball fame, Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera will be honored on July 12th!
Just 25 minutes from Lake George, the track is a great day of fun for any traveler visiting beautiful upstate New York. Where else can you enjoy a day of races at one of the oldest tracks in America and the next spend lounging on the most beautiful lake in America, Lake George (recently voted #1 again!!!)!
